Partick Thistle v Dundee United
Partick Thistle have started both of their previous two SPL campaigns with a draw, including a goalless draw with Dundee United in their first ever SPL game back in August 2002.
The Jags have never beaten Dundee United in the SPL, though five of their seven previous clashes have ended level (two defeats).
The Terrors have kept five clean sheets in seven SPL games against Partick, conceding just once in each of the other two games.
United have opened up an SPL campaign on the road five times previously, failing to win any of those games (D3 L2).
Terrors manager Jackie McNamara left Partick Thistle second in the Division One table in January 2012 to move to Tannadice. McNamara won 26 of 61 first division games in charge of the Jags.
Partick finished the 2012/13 season with an 18 game unbeaten run in Division One, winning 13 of these games.

Aberdeen v Kilmarnock
Kilmarnock have only conceded one goal in total in their last three trips to Pittodrie (W1 D1 L1).
Overall, the Dons have won just three of their last 13 league games against Kilmarnock, drawing four and losing six.
Aberdeen have won just one of their last 10 opening SPL fixtures (D4 L5) and have failed to score in four of their last six.
Only Celtic (32) and Motherwell (30) won more points on the road than Kilmarnock (26) in the 2012/13 SPL, though only relegated Dundee won fewer points at home than Killie.
Allan Johnston's side lost five of their last six league games last term, with their only victory in that run coming at relegated Dundee.
Excluding a 3-4 defeat to Celtic in March, Aberdeen conceded just five goals in their last 12 SPL games of last season.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle v St Mirren
Inverness and St Mirren met on the opening day of the 2012/13 season, drawing 2-2 at St Mirren Park.
The Buddies have lost two and won none of their last four trips to Inverness in the SPL (D2).
St Mirren mustered just three away wins all season last term; only Hearts (two) had a worse record on the road.
On all three previous occasions Inverness have played their opening SPL game on home soil, Caley have lost, including a 1-2 reverse against St Mirren in July 2006.
St Mirren, meanwhile, have only won one of their eight previous opening SPL fixture, but that was against Inverness in 2006.
St Mirren have only managed one clean sheet in their last 11 away league games.

St Johnstone v Hearts
This is the fourth time in just nine SPL seasons that St Johnstone have met Hearts on the opening day. The Saints have drawn one and lost two of the previous three.
Indeed, St Johnstone have never won an SPL curtain raiser, taking just three points from 24 available on the opening day.
Hearts are unbeaten in four SPL games against St Johnstone (W3 D1), with all three victories in this run finishing 2-0.
No side won fewer points on the road in the SPL last season than Hearts (14 from 19 games).
Only champions Celtic, meanwhile, won more home points than St Johnstone (34) last term.
Indeed, the Saints ended the 2012/13 campaign on an 11 game unbeaten run at McDiarmid Park (W6 D5).

Celtic v Ross County
Celtic had the best home record in the SPL last season, claiming 47 points from 19 games at Celtic Park.
Celtic and Ross County had an even record in the SPL last term (one win each and two draws), the first time they had ever met in the league.
There were just three goals scored in Ross County's first six SPL games combined (both for and against) last season, with the Staggies starting their first ever top-flight campaign with two successive 0-0 draws.
Celtic have won 12 and lost none (D3) of their 15 previous opening SPL fixtures, winning the last five in a row.
When they have started their campaign at Parkhead, the Bhoys have won seven and drawn one of eight previous games, scoring 18 and conceding just two.
Neil Lennon's side won their last 12 home league games last season, averaging 3.75 goals per game in this run.

Hibernian v Motherwell
Motherwell won 30 points on the road last season; only champions Celtic won more (32).
There were 14 goals scored in three meetings between Hibernian and Motherwell last season.
Motherwell have only won two of their last 14 opening day fixtures, drawing four and losing eight.
The Hibees have started the season at Easter Road eight times before and have only won once (D4 L3), beating St Mirren 2-1 in August 2009.
Hibs won three successive games at the end of the 2012/13 season, their longest winning streak since March 2011 (five wins in a row).
Motherwell scored at least twice in seven of their last eight league games last season (20 in total), although they did lose 0-2 at St Johnstone on the final day of the campaign.

League One Opta Facts - August 3rd


Sheffield United v Notts County
Notts County have failed to beat Sheffield United in their last four attempts in the league (D2 L2).
In total, 10 cards were shown over the two league matches played between the two sides last season, one being red.
The Magpies received seven red cards in League One last season, a league-high.
The Blades did not lose a match when they went ahead in a game over the entirety of the 2012/13 campaign (W19 D7).
Sheffield United won just once in their final eight league games last season, scoring only five goals in the process (D4 L3).
The hosts have only lost one of their last 10 opening day fixtures (W3 D6).

Bristol City v Bradford City
Bristol City will start the new season having won only once in their last 10 matches during their ill-fated battle in the Championship (D2 L7).
The Robins have only managed eight wins out of a possible 34 against Bradford City in the league (D6 L20).
The Bantams have won three of their last four league visits to the Ashton Gate (D1).
Bradford City are without a win on the opening day of the season in four attempts (L4).
There has been a goal scored inside 20 minutes in each of the last three meetings between these sides.

Carlisle United v Leyton Orient
The last three games played between the two sides have ended 4-1; two of which went in favour of Leyton Orient.
The Cumbrians conceded more goals in the first half than any other side in League One last season (39).
Carlisle dropped only two points from winning positions at home last season; equalled only by Colchester United, Oldham Athletic and Yeovil Town in League One.
The O's have scored at least once in their last five meetings with Carlisle.
Carlisle conceded 14 goals at home in their final 10 home fixtures; more than any side in the division with the exception of Bury, who shipped the same figure.

Crawley Town v Coventry City
The two clubs met for the first time last season with each side winning their respective home fixture.
Coventry went ahead in matches on 32 occasions last season; more than any other side.
Last season, Crawley failed to win a single match after going behind at home (D6 L5).
Coventry City finished the 2012/13 campaign without a win in five games (D2 L3).
Crawley Town finished the 2012/13 campaign with a streak of seven home games unbeaten (W3 D4).

Crewe v Rotherham
The Millers scored more goals over the course of their final 10 away games last season than any other side in League Two during the same period (16).
Crewe enter the new season having finished the previous with back to back victories and clean sheets at Alexandra Road.
Last season Crewe Alexandra conceded 56% of their goals in the first half; the highest percentage of any side in League One.
Crewe have been unable to beat Rotherham United in their last six attempts in league competition (D2 L4).
Rotherham have beaten Crewe in their last three meetings at the Alexandra Stadium.

Gillingham v Colchester United
Colchester have gone six games unbeaten (all comps) against the Gills, winning four (D2).
Colchester United have not scored more than one goal at Gillingham in their last five visits.
Colchester United shipped more goals than any other side in the final fifteen minutes of matches in League One last season (20).
The Gills scored 59% of their goals in the first half of matches last season during their successful term in League Two.
Gillingham finished last season with a five match unbeaten streak at the Priestfield Stadium, winning four (D1).

Peterborough v Swindon Town
Posh are unbeaten at home in their last six home league games (W3 D3).
Peterborough United have only conceded three goals in their last five home league games.
There have been 13 goals scored in the last two games played between these sides at London Road in the league.
Four of the last five league matches contested between Peterborough United and Swindon Town have ended in a draw.
Swindon Town finished the 2012/13 season with four consecutive away defeats; scoring just one goal in the process.

Port Vale v Brentford
Port Vale scored 13 goals in their final four home games last season before sealing promotion to League One.
Vale only managed one clean sheet in their last eight home games last season in League Two.
Brentford ended last season on a four match unbeaten run away from home (W1 D3).
The Bees kept just one clean sheet in their last nine away league games last season in League One.
Brentford have won their last three matches against Port Vale scoring nine goals in the process.

Preston North End v Wolves
There has been only one draw in the last eight meetings between these sides at Deepdale in the league, with Preston winning three (L4).
There have been eight goals scored in the last two league games involving these two teams.
Wolverhampton Wanderers ended last season as the side with the highest percentage of defeats in games in which they had taken the lead in the Championship (24%).
Preston North End conceded just two goals in their final six matches of last season.
Preston went unbeaten in their final seven home league games (W5 D2).

Shrewsbury v MK Dons
There have been 18 goals scored in the last four fixtures between the sides, averaging at 4.5 goals per game.
MK Dons are yet to beat Shrewsbury Town away from home (D2 L1).

Bury v Chesterfield
Bury are unbeaten in their last three against Chesterfield at Gigg Lane, winning once (D2).
At the back end of last season, the Spireites won their last three games on the road, scoring six and conceding one.
Bury summer signing Ashley Grimes netted 10 times last season for Rochdale, although he managed just one goal in his last 17 games.
The Spireites failed to gain a single point from losing positions away from home last season; a league-low.
In the last 10 league meetings between the side two sides, 26 goals have been scored, averaging at 2.6 goals per game.

Cheltenham v Burton
The two sides have met eight times in their history with Cheltenham winning five and Burton winning three.
Burton are yet to win on the opening day of the football league season, losing two (D2). Indeed, both defeats on the opening day came away from home.
No side kept more clean sheets last season than Cheltenham Town (19).
Cheltenham's Scott Brown made more saves than any other goalkeeper in League Two last season (156).
Burton picked up 22 points on their travels last season, equating to just 28.9% of their total points tally.

Exeter v Bristol Rovers
Since their return to the football league in 2008/09, Exeter have failed to win on the opening day, losing twice (D3 L2).

No side conceded fewer goals in the final fifteen minutes of matches last season than Bristol Rovers (5).
The Grecians won 11 times on the road last season; a joint-league-high alongside Port Vale and Gillingham.
The last five games (all comps) involving both Exeter and Bristol Rovers have produced 15 goals, averaging at three goals per game.

Fleetwood v Dag & Red
The two clubs met in the Football League for the first time last season with each team claiming a league victory. Fleetwood won their home fixture 2-1, courtesy of goals from Junior Brown and Gareth Evans.
Fleetwood failed to win any of their last six games of the 2012/13 season (L4 D2); their worst such run of that campaign.
Last season Fleetwood received seven red cards; a joint-league-high alongside Rotherham. Indeed, Fleetwood also picked up the most yellow cards (87).
No Dagenham and Redbridge player managed to reach double figures last season with Luke Howell topping their scoring charts with nine goals.

Newport v Accrington
This will be the first time the two clubs have met in the football league.
Only Torquay (16) lost more points from winning positions at home last season than Accrington Stanley (14).
Newport didn't concede a single goal during their three Blue Square Premier play-off matches last season, winning all three in the process, to clinch promotion.
Newport's Aaron O'Connor was the club's top scorer last season netting 18 goals in 39 games.
Former AFC Wimbledon winger Christian Jolley netted 13 goals and was the only other player to reach double figures for Newport.
Stanley managed to finish the season on a three-match unbeaten streak away from home last season (W2 D1).

Portsmouth v Oxford United
Portsmouth are without a win on the opening day in six attempts, losing three and drawing three.
Pompey are currently enjoying a seven-match unbeaten streak at Fratton Park (W4 D3).
Oxford finished the season on a three-match winning streak, scoring seven and conceding none.
Portsmouth won only once from losing positions at Fratton Park last season (D1 L11).
Teenage midfielder Jed Wallace ended the League One campaign by scoring four goals in his final eight games for Portsmouth.

Rochdale v Hartlepool United
The two sides met twice season in the 2011/12 League One campaign with Hartlepool United securing two victories, 3-1 and 2-0 respectively.
Prior to those fixtures Rochdale had gone three games unbeaten against Hartlepool, winning twice and drawing once.
Rochdale have failed to win any of their last seven opening day fixtures (D4 L3).
Hartlepool are unbeaten in their last five opening day fixtures; drawing four (W1). Indeed, they've failed to score in three of those fixtures.
Last season, Hartlepool won just nine of the 18 fixtures in which they took the lead (D6 L3); a joint-league-low alongside Bury.

Scunthorpe v Mansfield
Mansfield are unbeaten in their last seven league matches against Scunthorpe, winning four of those (D3).
Scunthorpe have won just once in their last eight opening day fixtures (D2 L5).
In 2013, Mansfield won 21 of 25 games played in the Blue Square Bet Premier, losing only four.
Last season, Scunthorpe drew only one game nil-nil; only two teams recorded fewer nil-nil draws in League One: Oldham Athletic and Coventry City (0).
The Iron won their last two games last season, but it wasn't enough to avoid relegation.

Southend v Plymouth
Southend have won just one of the last 10 league meetings with Plymouth, drawing six and losing three.
Last season, only Burton (23) won more points from losing positions than Southend (21).
Southend ended last season without winning a game at Roots Hall in nine attempts (D4 L5).
Southend scored 69% of their goals in the second half of matches in the 2012/13 campaign; a league-high proportion.
Last season, only Dagenham and Redbridge (8) and Bradford City (8) scored more goals from the penalty spot than Plymouth (7).

Torquay v Wimbledon
The two clubs have met four times in the league with each side winning twice. Both meetings last season ended in away wins.
AFC Wimbledon were the only side not involved in a nil-nil score-line in the 2012/13 League Two campaign.
Indeed, the Dons kept the fewest clean sheets in the division (7).
No side lost more points from winning positions at home last season than Torquay (16).
Both Torquay and Wimbledon scored 30 goals in the second half of matches last season.

Wycombe v Morecambe
Wycombe have never lost to Morecambe in the league, winning five and drawing three.
The Chairboys are unbeaten in their last three opening day fixtures (W2 D1), including a 2-0 home victory over Morecambe in 2010.
Wycombe scored just six times in the final 15 minutes of games last season, fewer than any other side.
Morecambe conceded 70% of their goals in the second half of games last season; a league-high proportion.
In the 2012/13 campaign, only Torquay (16) and Accrington (14) lost more points from winning positions at home than Wycombe (13).

York v Northampton
York were unbeaten against Northampton last season, drawing 1-1 at home and winning 2-0 at the Sixfields Stadium.
No team in any of England's top four divisions drew more games nil-nil last season than York City (9).
Northampton have lost only once in their last nine opening day fixtures (W2 D6).
The Cobblers won four games away from home last season; a joint-league-low alongside Torquay and Aldershot (4).
No side won fewer points from losing positions than York last season (4).
