They may be through to the quarter-final stage of the Champions League, but Borussia Dortmund have effectively been dethroned as German champions and are now in a two-way battle for second place with Bayer Leverkusen, who host leaders Bayern Munich in one of Saturday’s late kick-offs.
Although Dortmund have not lost to Freiburg since 2010, their chances of a sixth straight victory over the Bundesliga’s eighth-place side will be hampered by the absence of defender Mats Hummels, who was withdrawn at the break during last weekend’s derby loss to Schalke with an ankle injury. He will be replaced by the Brazilian Felipe Santana, who has started just 13 matches in all competitions this season.

Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp is also likely to be without captain - and former Freiburg player - Sebastian Kehl, as the central midfielder battles niggling injuries.

Freiburg, who are winless in their past three Bundesliga matches but through to the semi-finals of the DFB Pokal, will be without central midfielder Cedric Makiadi due to a knee injury as well as striker Sebastian Freis, who continues to recover following shoulder surgery.

DID YOU KNOW?

Borussia Dortmund won the Bundesliga by eight points last season and seven points in 2011-12. They are currently 20 points adrift of current leaders Bayern Munich.

Dortmund captain Sebastian Kehl played parts of two seasons for Freiburg more than 10 years ago, contributing eight goals.

Dortmund have won just two of their last five Bundesliga matches and have kept only one clean sheet in their last six outings.

Freiburg are on course for their best finish in the Bundesliga since 2000-01, when they came fourth. They have since been relegated twice and earned their most recent promotion in 2008-09.

Hamburg are the only top-10 side to have managed fewer than Freiburg’s 32 goals from 25 matches so far this season.

Freiburg’s Under-19 side has won four of the last seven titles in that age category, including the previous two.

Prediction
Not surprisingly, Dortmund took their loss to Schalke extremely hard and will be looking to bounce back with a convincing win against Freiburg. And with Bayer Leverkusen occupied with Bayern Munich later in the day, the hosts will fancy their chances of padding a lead on the third-place side that is currently just a single point.

Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard (back) is still unavailable, with Jan Mucha expected to continue to deputise.

Phil Jagielka (ankle) is David Moyes' only other concern as he nears fitness and may make the substitutes' bench for this game. Tony Hibbert remains the Toffees’ only long-term injury absentee after undergoing a calf operation.

For Manchester City, Sergio Aguero (knee) and Vincent Kompany (calf) have had recent injury problems but are in with a chance of featuring.

Both Micah Richards (knee) and Jack Rodwell (hamstring) remain sidelined, but may make a return before the end of the month. However, beyond these concerns, manager Roberto Mancini has no new worries ahead of this game.

DID YOU KNOW?

Everton have won just two of their last seven games in all competitions, including their 3-0 FA Cup quarter-final loss to Wigan last time out.

Toffees defender Sylvain Distin spent six years with the weekend opponents, being named club captain in the 2003-04 season. Distin is 18/1 wit bet365 to score anytime on Saturday.

The Toffees have won their last three games at home to Roberto Mancini's side.

Manchester City have won their last four games in all competitions, including twice in the FA Cup, since their embarrassing defeat away to Southampton in early February.

Joleon Lescott spent four years at Goodison Park but left for £24 million in 2009 to join the current Premier League champions.

In their last four games, despite missing defensive lnchpin Vincent Kompany through injury, City have not conceded a single goal.

The side's previous meeting this term ended in a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium after Marouane Fellaini’s goal was cancelled out by a Carlos Tevez penalty.

Prediction
Everton had a terrible game last time out against Wigan and will be hoping to rectify that in front of their home fans, while their recent record against Manchester City will give them great cause for hope. However, the champions should have too much for their opponents in the final third and will be hopeful of another win to keep their faint title hopes alive.

Everton 0-2 Manchester City

Ponovo su nam se „javili” kiksevi. Prethodnog vikenda mnogi klubovi nisu opravdali ulogu favorita, a na većinu njih blagovremeno smo vas upozorili. Neuspesi PSV-a, Alkmara, madridskog Atletika, Mančester Junajteda i Intera, nas definitivno nisu iznenadili.

- I Sevilja.

MOJ TIP
REAL M. - MAJORKA 1
Valensija - Betis 1X
Malaga - Espanjol 1X
SEVILJA - SARAGOSA 1
Osasuna - Atletiko M. 12
BARSELONA - R. VALJEKANO 1

Lazio have failed to find the back of the net in three of their last four Serie A matches but have been in noticeably better goalscoring form in Europe, where they have scored seven goals in their previous three outings - two of which came against Stuttgart in the first leg of this Europa League round of 16 tie.
Midfielders Hernanes and Lorik Cana picked up yellow cards in the victory, however, and as a result will miss the return fixture through suspension.

Lazio manager Vladimir Petkovic will also be without midfielder Cristian Brocchi who has a fractured metatarsal, Antonio Rossi who has a pulled hamstring, as well as striker Miroslav Klose and right-back Abdoulay Konko, both of whom are recovering from serious knee injuries and not due back until next month.

Stuttgart meanwhile welcome striker Vedad Ibisevic back from suspension. The Bosnia-Herzegovina international will replace Manchester United loanee Federico Macheda, who started on his own up top for the first leg. Fellow forward Cacau remains sidelined after a cruciate ligament rupture.

Also missing are midfielders Alexandru Maxim and Mamadou Bah, who have nose and tibula fractures, respectively.

DID YOU KNOW?

Lazio have dropped to sixth in Serie A after being as high as third earlier this season. They have won just one of their last eight matches in the league.

Striker Libor Kozak, a Czech Republic international, is the highest active goalscorer in the Europa League with seven goals.

Lazio have conceded just five goals in their last nine Europa League matches.

Stuttgart have won just one Bundesliga match in 2013 and are presently 14th in the division - still eight points clear of Augsburg and a relegation playoff.

Stuttgart have not managed more than two goals in a match in any competition since a December 8 win over Schalke.

With 20 goals in all competitions, Vedad Ibisevic is Stuttgart’s top goalscorer this season.

Prediction
Barcelona overturned a 2-0 aggregate deficit on Tuesday, but they were at home, and Stuttgart aren’t Barcelona. Not by a long shot. Lazio’s struggles in the league have been softened by their European form, and they should expect to continue their winning run with an outright victory on Thursday.

Inter boss Andrea Stramaccioni will be hoping his side can recover from back-to-back to defeats. Samir Handanovic is set to return in goal after missing Sunday’s Serie A loss to Bologna through suspension.

Javier Zanetti made his 600th Serie A appearance in that match and the veteran is again expected to start. Up front, Antonio Cassano is poised to provide support to Rodrigo Palacio as they search for goals.

As for the visitors, Andre Villas-Boas will be without star man Gareth Bale whose yellow card in the first leg ruled him out of the game. Brad Friedel is again poised to start in goal in place of Hugo Lloris.

Emmanuel Adebayor could well be in contention for a return from an ankle injury, but may have to settle for a place on the bench with Jermain Defoe again starting. Steven Caulker could come into the team after recently losing his place to Michael Dawson.

DID YOU KNOW?

Inter have struggled for results in Serie A over recent weeks - winning just three of their last 13 games.

Rodrio Palacio has an impressive scoring record in the Europa League this season with seven goals in nine appearances, two off Roberto Boninsegna's all-time club competition record of nine managed in 1969-70.

Inter have won the Uefa Cup, now the Europa League, three times - in 1990-91, 1993-94 and 1997-98.

Tottenham are undefeated in their previous 10 Europa League games, including the 3-0 first-leg victory, stretching back to November, 2011.

The last meeting between the two teams at San Siro saw Inter run out 4-3 winners, with Bale grabbing the headlines in defeat with a hat-trick.

Spurs have won the Uefa Cup twice - in 1972 in its inaugural year, and again in 1984. They are 7/2 to win the competition this year with Coral.

Tottenham have faced Italian opposition 10 times - winning four times, drawing four and losing just twice.

Prediction
Inter face an extremely difficult uphill task to stand any chance of progressing following the 3-0 first-leg defeat. With Spurs impressive away from home, they should have far too much to let their opponents get back into the tie but must be wary on complacency.

Editor's Prediction

Franck Ribery (ankle) limped off during Bayern Munich's 3-2 win over Fortuna Dusseldorf on Saturday and is confirmed to miss the game, while Bastian Schweinsteiger and Jerome Boateng are suspended.

upp Heynckes is set to give starts to Luiz Gustavo and Xherdan Shaqiri against the Gunners, while Arjen Robben (calf) is a doubt after sitting out Saturday's match.

Arsene Wenger is set to name the strongest side possible having not had a fixture since March 3 but Nacho Monreal is again unavailable, meaning that Thomas Vermaelen will deputise at left-back.

The second leg may prove too soon for Bacary Sagna (knee) so Carl Jenkinson is likely to start, while Abou Diaby (calf) could return to the bench after sitting out the north London derby.

Reports emerged on Monday night that Jack Wilshere (ankle) is set to miss the game and potentially the rest of the season.

DID YOU KNOW?

Bayern Munich's superb win at the Emirates Stadium in the first leg means that the Gunners have not beaten the German side in five Champions League encounters.

The Bavarians have conceded three goals at home in total the Champions League so far this season – a statistic that Arsene Wenger's side need to at least double in this game alone to go through.

Mario Mandzukic scored in the first leg, making him the 10th different player to net for Jupp Heynckes's side in Europe this term.

If Arsenal fail to progress, it will be the third year in a row in which they have crashed out at the last-16 stage of the tournament.

Only two sides – Ajax and Inter – have previously made it through after losing the first leg at home.

However, the competition has never seen a team turn around a two-goal home deficit. Arsenal are 14/1 with Paddy Power to score three goals in this game.
