Bayern Munich - Borussia Monchengladbach
Bayern have won only one of their last four Bundesliga meetings with Borussia Monchengladbach (D1 L2).
The last two seasons to begin with a defeat for Bayern were during the 2011/12 and 2001/02 campaigns, both losses came against Monchengladbach (each ending 1-0).
Bayern collected 91 points in 2012/13 which set a new Bundesliga record. The old record was 81 points set by Borussia Dortmund in 2011/12.
The difference between Bayern Munich (1st) and Borussia Dortmund (2nd) at the end of the last season was 25 points, the biggest gulf in Bundesliga history.
Monchengladbach were the only side to score first in both league meetings against Bayern Munich during last season.
The last three teams who won on matchday one against the respective German champions could not finish the (respective) season higher than 14th in the table.
Bayern haven't lost any of their last 25 Bundesliga games (W21 D4); their current club record is 27 unbeaten games (May 1988 - March 1989).

In 2012/13, Hannover collected 71% of their points at home (32 of 45), this is highest proportion of all sides last season.
Wolfsburg collected 26 points on the road last season (like Leverkusen); only Bayern Munich (47) and Borussia Dortmund (33) picked up more.

Augsburg will play their third Bundesliga campaign; they have always started the season with a home game. They haven't won any of them (D1 L1).
Dortmund have not won any of their last three Bundesliga games (D2 L1). Four consecutive Bundesliga games without a Dortmund victory last came in 2009 (6 consecutive games without victory between August and September of that year).
Augsburg have not drawn any of their last 13 Bundesliga games; more than any other side currently.

Barnsley v Wigan Athletic
This will be only the fifth time that Barnsley and Wigan Athletic have played each other in a league fixture, with the Tykes yet to defeat Wigan (D2 L2).
Barnsley ended the 2012-13 Championship season with only two defeats in their final 12 games (W4 D6 L2).
The Tykes have won their opening game of the league season on just one of their last seven attempts (W1 D2 L4), but this victory came in 2012-13 versus Middlesbrough at Oakwell.
Only one of Wigan's last 10 fixtures on the opening weekend of the league season have seen them secure victory (W1 D2 L7).
This will be the first game that Wigan have played in the second tier of English football since May 8th 2005; when they secured promotion to the Premier League with a 3-1 home win over Reading.
Only Millwall (24) scored fewer goals at home in the 2012-13 Championship than Barnsley (26).

Partick Thistle v Dundee United
Partick Thistle have started both of their previous two SPL campaigns with a draw, including a goalless draw with Dundee United in their first ever SPL game back in August 2002.
The Jags have never beaten Dundee United in the SPL, though five of their seven previous clashes have ended level (two defeats).
The Terrors have kept five clean sheets in seven SPL games against Partick, conceding just once in each of the other two games.
United have opened up an SPL campaign on the road five times previously, failing to win any of those games (D3 L2).

The Buddies have lost two and won none of their last four trips to Inverness in the SPL (D2).
St Mirren mustered just three away wins all season last term; only Hearts (two) had a worse record on the road.
On all three previous occasions Inverness have played their opening SPL game on home soil, Caley have lost, including a 1-2 reverse against St Mirren in July 2006.
St Mirren, meanwhile, have only won one of their eight previous opening SPL fixture, but that was against Inverness in 2006.
St Mirren have only managed one clean sheet in their last 11 away league games.

St Johnstone v Hearts
This is the fourth time in just nine SPL seasons that St Johnstone have met Hearts on the opening day. The Saints have drawn one and lost two of the previous three.
Indeed, St Johnstone have never won an SPL curtain raiser, taking just three points from 24 available on the opening day.
Hearts are unbeaten in four SPL games against St Johnstone (W3 D1), with all three victories in this run finishing 2-0.
No side won fewer points on the road in the SPL last season than Hearts (14 from 19 games).
Only champions Celtic, meanwhile, won more home points than St Johnstone (34) last term.

Celtic v Ross County

There were just three goals scored in Ross County's first six SPL games combined (both for and against) last season, with the Staggies starting their first ever top-flight campaign with two successive 0-0 draws.
Celtic have won 12 and lost none (D3) of their 15 previous opening SPL fixtures, winning the last five in a row.
When they have started their campaign at Parkhead, the Bhoys have won seven and drawn one of eight previous games, scoring 18 and conceding just two.
Neil Lennon's side won their last 12 home league games last season, averaging 3.75 goals per game in this run.

Hibernian v Motherwell
Motherwell won 30 points on the road last season; only champions Celtic won more (32).
There were 14 goals scored in three meetings between Hibernian and Motherwell last season.

Sheffield United v Notts County
Notts County have failed to beat Sheffield United in their last four attempts in the league (D2 L2).
In total, 10 cards were shown over the two league matches played between the two sides last season, one being red.
The Magpies received seven red cards in League One last season, a league-high.
The Blades did not lose a match when they went ahead in a game over the entirety of the 2012/13 campaign (W19 D7).

Last season Crewe Alexandra conceded 56% of their goals in the first half; the highest percentage of any side in League One.
Crewe have been unable to beat Rotherham United in their last six attempts in league competition (D2 L4).

Preston North End v Wolves
There has been only one draw in the last eight meetings between these sides at Deepdale in the league, with Preston winning three (L4).
