At least one 100 per cent record will end at Signal Iduna Park on Friday when Borussia Dortmund host Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga.

Dortmund sit top of the Bundesliga on goal difference after beating Augsburg 4-0 on the opening day and overcoming Eintracht Braunschweig 2-1 at home on Sunday.

Bremen have enjoyed a similar opening to their league campaign, having also beaten the same two teams as Jurgen Klopp's men, both 1-0.

Jonas Hofmann and Marco Reus gave Dortmund a 2-0 lead on Sunday and, despite suffering a late scare due to a Robert Lewandowski own-goal, last season's Bundesliga runners-up took all three points.

The matched marked the league debuts of Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with the former, an ex-Bremen player, particularly eager to retain his place and face his former side.

He insists there is no room for sentiment against his old employers, having made the switch to Signal Iduna Park in May.

"It'll be quite special," he told Dortmund's official website.

"I spent two fantastic years there, but now I'm a Dortmund player. There's no friendship on Friday - we want to keep the points in Dortmund."

Mkhitaryan, a close-season signing from Shakhtar Donetsk, is also hungry for more match action after making his Dortmund bow on Sunday.

"It was my first game in a BVB shirt and I´m very happy that we won the game, but more importantly we got the three points," he said.

"Now we need to focus on the game against Bremen on Friday."

After a disappointing season last time out, which saw them finish 14th and coach Thomas Schaaf lose his job, Bremen have shown promising early signs this time around.

They currently sit in fifth, with the goals of Mehmet Ekici and Zlatko Junuzovic giving new coach Robin Dutt a lift.

His new side are also yet to concede, and Dutt is happy enough to see Bremen win by narrow margins - believing that the club's fans will continue to be patient as they hit their stride.

"The team cannot be perfect, (but) they don't need to be perfect," Dutt told Bremen's official website. "You don't develop a new style by losing games (by) three or four, or four or five.

"You develop that step by step from winning games 1-0. I can really feel that the fans have accepted that."

Ekici's 22nd-minute goal secured Dutt's men all three points at the Weserstadion on Saturday and the midfielder is likely to be involved again on Friday.

Dortmund won both Bundesliga ties against Bremen last season, kicking off the season with a 2-1 home win before Klopp's side won the reverse fixture 5-0 in January.
