League One Opta Facts – August 10

Bradford City v Carlisle United
Carlisle United have only managed to beat Bradford City once in the last 18 league meetings between these teams (D8 L9).
This is the first league meeting between these two teams since New Year's Day 2007; Carlisle won this fixture 1-0.
Bradford have gone four matches in all competitions without a victory over Carlisle (D2 L2).
Bradford City's draw against Bristol City ended a run of four losses on the opening day of the season.
Nahki Wells was on target for the Bantams against Bristol City and has now netted nine times in his last nine league games (inc. play offs).

Brentford v Sheffield United
The Blades have beaten the London side in three of the last four league fixtures to have taken place at Brentford.
Brentford have only managed one win in the last eight against the Yorkshire club in league competition (D3 L4).
In the last seven league fixtures to have been played between these two teams, at least one side finished the game having scored two goals.
Blades defender Harry Maguire scored on the opening day of the 2013/14 season against Notts County, he also scored on the opening day of the 2011/12 season against Oldham.
The last time these sides met, three players were handed red cards, Harry Maguire, Tony Craig and Clayton Donaldson.

Colchester United v Port Vale
This will be the first time these sides have met since January 2006, when Colchester managed a 2-1 victory over the Vale.
The Essex side have failed to score against Port Vale just once in the last seven meetings in league competition.
There has only been one draw in the last 12 league games between the teams, Colchester winning five of them with Port Vale running out winners in six.
Colchester secured an opening weekend victory against Gillingham on Saturday, courtesy of an 89th minute Andy Bond strike. Last season the U's netted just five goals in the final fifteen minutes of matches; a league-low.
After the opening weekend, Port Vale are now unbeaten in their last nine league games, winning three (D6).

Leyton Orient v Shrewsbury Town
There has not been a draw involving these sides in 18 league matches when Orient have been at home; a run that goes back to 1968.
Shrewsbury Town have shipped seven goals in the last three matches against Leyton Orient.
The Shropshire club have scored in 10 of the last 11 league meetings with Leyton Orient.
Kevin Lisbie scored three goals for Leyton Orient over the course of both home and away fixtures against Shrewsbury Town last season, all from the penalty spot.
Leyton Orient's 5-1 victory last weekend was their largest opening day win ever, eclipsing their 5-2 defeat of Portsmouth in August 1964.

MK Dons v Crewe
MK Dons have scored in all four prior league fixtures against Crewe.
Crewe are looking for their first win at MK Dons in the league, having failed to win in their two previous attempts (D1 L1).
There was not a single card shown in the corresponding fixture at the Stadium:mk last season.
There is yet to be a result between these sides where one side has scored more than two goals.
Last weekend's 3-3 draw against Rotherham was the first time Crewe had scored three or more goals on the opening day of the season since 1992, when they beat Torquay 4-2 at home.

Notts County v Peterborough United
Notts County have won only once in the last 12 league meetings with Peterborough (D3 L8).
The Magpies have netted only one goal in the previous five at home to the Posh in the league.
Peterborough have managed to find the back of the net in five of their last six league visits to Meadow Lane.
Notts County have avoided defeat at home to the Posh just once in the last five league games, when the sides drew 0-0 in 2006.
No side received more red cards in League One last season than Notts County (7). County were the first club to receive a red card this campaign, when Gary Liddle was sent off against Sheffield United.

Oldham Athletic v Walsall
Walsall have managed to win just once in their last nine league visits at Oldham (D3 L5).
Oldham have scored in the last seven fixtures against Walsall.
The Latics have gone nine games without scoring more than two goals in the league against Walsall.
There have been only eight cards in the last four meetings between these sides.
Last weekend, Craig Westcarr netted twice for the Saddlers against Tranmere and has now scored five goals in his last six league games for the club.

Rotherham United v Preston North End
Preston have won three of the last four meetings in league competition between these sides.
Preston have scored only three times in their last seven league visits to Rotherham, failing to score in five of these matches.
In their last seven league fixtures at home to the Lancashire side, Rotherham have not managed to score more than one goal in a game.
The Millers have beaten Preston just three times in their last 11 league meetings (D2 L6).
Towards the end of the previous campaign, the Millers won their last four league games at the New York Stadium.

Swindon Town v Stevenage
Stevenage failed to score in their two previous league matches against Swindon Town.
Swindon scored seven in their only two previous meetings against Stevenage.
Over the course of the two fixtures in the league last season, six different players scored for Swindon.
Swindon were the joint-top scorers (along with Bournemouth) in the division last season with 76 goals, whilst just three sides scored fewer than Stevenage (47).
Swindon finished the regular 2012/13 campaign with a five-match unbeaten run at home, winning twice (D3).

Tranmere Rovers v Crawley Town
These two teams faced each other for the first time last season in league competition, with Tranmere winning both.
Crawley conceded seven goals over their only two previous meetings against Tranmere Rovers.
There were only four yellow cards shown in the two reverse fixtures last season.
Six of the nine goals scored in the two fixtures involving these teams have been scored in the first half.
Jamie Proctor has netted three goals in his last two league games for Crawley.

Wolves v Gillingham
This game marks the first time these teams have lined up against each other in the league since 2005, when the two clubs drew 2-2 at Molineux.
Wolves have entertained the Kent club six times previously in league competition, with the Gills conceding in every game (18 goals in total).
Gillingham have only ever beaten Wolves away from home once in the league (D2 L3), that win came in 1985.
Wolves have conceded just three goals in their last five in the league against Gillingham, with Wolves scoring 14 over the same period.
Gillingham won a league high 42 points on the road in League Two last season (W11, D9, L3).

Coventry City v Bristol City
Coventry have beaten Bristol City just once in their last five at home in the league (D1 L3).
The Robins have failed to score in just one of their last nine league visits to Coventry.
The Sky Blues scored one goal in each of their last three meetings at home to The Robins.
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Scott Wagstaff both scored on their Bristol City debuts last weekend, as the Robins drew 2-2 with newly-promoted Bradford City.
The Sky Blues lost 24 points from winning positions at home last season; a league-high.
